Our 2020 Gration lecture had to be postponed due to COVID, but we are happy to announce that the lecture is returning this fall! We are delighted that Dr. Robert Gallagher will be the speaker. Details on the lecture will be posted here as soon as they are confirmed.
Robert L. Gallagher (Ph.D., Fuller Theological Seminary) is a professor of intercultural studies emeritus at Wheaton College Graduate School in Chicago where he has taught since 1998. He has served as the president of the Midwest Mission Study Fellowship (2019-20) and the American Society of Missiology (2010-2011), an executive pastor in Australia (1979-90), and a theological educator in Oceania since 1984. His recent publications include co-editing Contemporary Mission Theology: Engaging the Nations (Orbis Books, 2017) and Sixteenth-Century Mission: Explorations in Protestant and Roman Catholic Theology and Practice (Lexham Press, 2021), together with co-authoring Encountering the History of Missions: From the Early Church to Today (Baker Academic, 2017), Breaking through the Boundaries: God’s Mission from the Outside In (Orbis Books, 2019), and Christ Among the Nations: Narratives of Transformation in Global Missions (Orbis Books, 2021).

John A. Gration, Ph.D. served in cross-cultural settings (1952-75) and became the first department chair of the Intercultural Studies department while serving as faculty from 1975-1995.
