Event highlight: "Incorporating Love and Risk in our Work"

A lecture by Andy Crouch based on his book Strong and Weak: Embracing a Life of Love, Risk, and True Flourishing

7:00 p.m. | Sept. 4 | Buyse Lecture Hall, Meyer 145

Those who desire to integrate their Christian faith with their everyday work will not want to miss this talk. Andy Crouch will share his thinking about authority and vulnerability, and how these realities intersect in ways that either increase or diminish human flourishing. Crouch will help his audience think through how these themes can be applied in their own workplaces and communities. This event is free and open to the public and will take place in Meyer Science Center, Room 145 Buyse Lecture Hall, located at 430 Howard St. in Wheaton. For more information, contact Erin McCord Savidge at 630.752.7297 or CFI@wheaton.edu.

Why CFI?

The kingdom of God does not end where the marketplace begins. Jesus Christ is Lord of every area of life, and he calls his followers to vocations in the marketplace as well as the church; millions of people follow Christ's call by going to work each day in businesses around the globe. There they face difficult decisions, complex problems, and new opportunities.

Building on a Strong Legacy

In 2014, Wheaton College launched a center called Opus: The Art of Work with a generous grant from the Kern Family Foundation. Kern extended this grant every year for a total of more than $2 million. Dr. Chris Armstrong, the Founding Director of Opus, and Ben Norquist, Assistant Director, worked to support the development of an ecosystem of teachers and mentors that laid the framework for CFI's work today.

Faculty Initiatives

CFI provides opportunities for Wheaton faculty and staff to learn more and engage with the work of the center around faith, vocation, and innovation. Programs are designed to resource and support participants as vocational mentors for students and as critical partners in CFI's innovation research.
