Join us for Harvest!

A campus visit program for future educators on October 14-15, 2024.

Are you considering a career in elementary or secondary education? If so, this dynamic visit event has been tailored just for you by our education faculty in collaboration with undergraduate admissions.

Our goal is to provide interested students and parents with a high-energy, deep dive into the distinctives of our education programs.  In addition, you’ll hear inspiring testimonies from faculty members who are boldly committed to Christ, actively participate in elementary or secondary methods courses, tour campus, take meals with faculty and education majors, learn about the application process and financial aid, enjoy social time with Wheaton students, and stay overnight (optional) with an education major!

This exclusive event is open to 25 students and is offered only once per year.

Hear from Parents who came to our 2022 Harvest event:

“Harvest gave us fantastic insight into the experience our daughter will have at Wheaton College. Every session was worthwhile and tailored specifically to her experience. We were able to receive a glimpse into the kind of personal attention, care, and investment provided by faculty in the Department of Education.  The event was very well done, and it was beneficial to our family!”

Annie Houghton, Oak Park, IL

“Wheaton’s 2022 Harvest event for prospective Education majors set a new standard for college visits. My son, Garrett, and I found the 24-hour event to be immensely informative, inspiring, and a whole lot of fun. Thoughtfully composed and well executed, Harvest provided prospective students and their parents with all of the elements of a traditional college visit —offering an engaging campus tour, lunch in the dining hall, a presentation by the Admissions Department, and an overnight stay in the dorms—but its tailored approach to prospective education majors made it a uniquely beneficial experience.

I felt that the panel with alumni was especially beneficial; it was a very powerful tool to convey the value of the program at Wheaton. Having the opportunity to dive into an engaging class discussion, share meals with the tight-knit education faculty, receive an overview of the four year (or five, if pursuing a masters) path to degree & licensure, and hear personal testimonies of faith from those who are passionate about raising up strong educators, and more importantly followers of Christ, was invaluable. My son walked away from Harvest energized, inspired, and excited about his future. As his parent, I left feeling well-informed, with deep confidence in Wheaton’s mission, programming, and dedicated faculty.”

Carolyn Lundgren, Oak Park, IL

"The Harvest experience was richer than a general campus visit because we were able to meet the faculty in the Department of Education.  As different professors shared their testimonies and/or their callings to education, I sensed their passion for the Lord and for the work they do.  They're not only there to teach your child, but they're there to nurture your child.

During Harvest, we also met students who are education majors, and they shared their Wheaton experiences with us.  They were mature and confident.  My daughter stayed overnight with two freshmen, and they introduced her to their friends!  The student were also able to attend specific education classes to get a sense of what it would be like to study with some of the education professors.

I'd encourage all parents who have a child interested in majoring in education to attend The Wheaton College Dept. of Education’s Harvest event!"
