Shula Hui '23 - God’s Provision

I waited uncertainly for the complete financial aid package to arrive in my inbox. Wheaton College looked promising, especially with its Center for Vocation and Career. With the help of this center, I could locate and apply for internships that would correlate with my major and build my work experience.

Three family friends recommended Wheaton, and I respected its reputation for academic rigor and Christ-centered education. Still, I knew my parents did not earn a large living and decided that my decision would hinge on the level of financial aid I received. Student Financial Services and their scholarships, including the Blanchard Presidential Scholarship and the Wheaton Grant, helped relieve my financial concerns and allow me to choose to attend Wheaton.

I appreciated the effort that the financial services team spent in updating me on my financial aid status. Ms. Enstrom, the Assistant Director of Operations, contacted me about my parents living overseas and sent me a form so that they could determine whether or not to adjust my financial award. When Student Financial Services revised the financial aid for higher travel expenses, Ms. Enstrom notified me immediately. The financial team dedicates themselves to prompt, responsible, and informative communication throughout the application process. I could not have arrived at Wheaton without the crucial support of Ms. Enstrom and her staff members.
