Eli Ouoba- Preparing For the Future at Wheaton

By: Eli Ouoba

As a high school senior, I was looking for a strong liberal arts college that was affordable and offered experiences to prepare me for careers in music and computer science. Having just completed my freshman year, I am happy to say that Wheaton College has surpassed my expectations in both areas!

Wheaton has met my full cost of tuition and attendance through the Blanchard Presidential Scholarship, a music merit scholarship, and a generous institutional commitment directly from the college. I am grateful to the staff at Student Financial Services as well as the Wheaton alumni who generously give financially for students. They have made my college dream possible!

The Center for Vocation and Career (CVC) is a unique resource among Christian liberal arts colleges. This summer, I am participating in the CVC's new mySkills program, where I am learning how to copywrite and apply this skill to a real-world project. I am also learning about internships through resources provided by the CVC. MySkills offers me a valuable learning experience in which I collaborate with a team and learn to strategize for a project. I have started networking and building professional relationships. I plan to apply for in-person internships next summer and utilize these skills.

By pursuing opportunities to experience, connect, and learn on campus, I am setting myself up for success after college. All of this is made possible by Wheaton's commitment to me and the resources they offer!
