April McLaughlin
Program Coordinator
April has been coordinating the Billy Graham Scholarship Program at Wheaton since the fall of 2012. She considers herself incredibly blessed to inherit this ministry of helping equip Christian leaders who will impact the world for Christ. While at Wheaton, April has achieved her M.A. in TESOL and Intercultural Studies.
Prior to Wheaton she was involved in Christian ministry for over 30 years in both local church settings and Christian academic institutions. April and her husband served as missionaries in Japan from 2003-2008. She sees the variety of experience in her life come together in the scholarship program work at Wheaton: hospitality, event planning, discipleship, cross-cultural interpersonal relationships, networking, financial management, and prayer.
Her interests include attending cultural and arts events, reading, playing the piano, and enjoying travel and nature. April has been married for 32 years and has three adult daughters, a son-in-law and granddaughter.
A favorite Bible image is that of the almond branch. "Then the Lord said to me, 'You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it." Jer. 1:12
