Ph.D. Student

I am a first-year Ph.D. student in Clinical Psychology whose research focuses on adolescent stress, resilience, and psychological adjustment in the context of social relationships. I am particularly interested in how parental and peer support systems, attributional styles, and cognitive-emotional processes influence pathways of hope, hopelessness, and well-being among youth facing life challenges. My work examines how varying types and sources of social support may buffer against stress and vulnerability while promoting resilience within at-risk populations.

Clinically, I am developing competencies in psychological assessment and diagnostic formulation, with growing interest in interdisciplinary medical settings serving individuals with complex presentations. My therapeutic orientation is grounded in third-wave cognitive behavioral approaches, particularly Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), integrated with a systems perspective that considers relational and contextual influences on functioning. I am especially interested in how assessment can inform treatment planning and support whole-person care across developmental stages.

Long term, I hope to work in hospital-based or military/VA healthcare environments, serving individuals and families facing complex psychological and medical concerns, including trauma-related conditions and adjustment challenges. I am also interested in supporting families and communities through research, clinical care, and training that promote resilience, adaptive coping, and psychological well-being. Ultimately, my goal is to contribute through work that reflects scientific rigor, clinical excellence, and compassionate care.
