Concentrations (12 Credits)

Students may choose from one of the following concentrations and take twelve credits in the specialized area.

Systematic Theology Concentration

• BITH 676. Seminar Systematic Theology (take 8 total credits)
• Electives (any 500- or 600-level BITH course) (take 8 total credits)

Ecclesial Theology Concentration (coming Fall 2027): Offered in partnership with the Center for Pastor Theologians.

• BITH 685. Seminar in Ecclesial Theology (take 8 total credits)
• Electives (any 500- or 600-level BITH course) (take 8 total credits)

Historical Theology Concentration:

• BITH 679. Seminar in Historical Theology (take 8 total credits)
• Electives (any 500- or 600-level BITH course) (take 8 total credits)

General Concentration

Interested in pursuing a Ph.D.?

Students interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in Theology or a related field are strongly encouraged to take the following for elective credit:

• BITH 684. Methods in Scholarship (0)
• BITH 505. Language Study (4). French or German.
