How does the Accelerated M.A. at Wheaton work?

First, you have to become an undergraduate student at Wheaton College! Now, we’ll walk you through the next few years.

• Freshmen, Sophomore, or Junior Year: Meet with graduate admissions and your academic advisor to plan the pathway to earning an accelerated master’s degree.
• Sophomore Year-Second Semester: Apply to the accelerated master’s program of your choice using your my.wheaton.edu email. The only requirement is the successful completion of 45 credit hours.
• Junior Year: Upon acceptance into the Accelerated M.A. program, begin taking advanced coursework.
• Senior Year: Complete your undergraduate bachelor’s degree.
• Fifth-year: Finish your remaining graduate courses, and earn your master’s degree in as little as five years! 

When you apply as an undergraduate student you will not need to declare your intent to pursue an accelerated master's degree. However, it's a good conversation to have with your Admissions Counselor. They can connect you with staff and faculty who can answer your questions about the Wheaton College Graduate School.

*Please note, in order for federal aid to apply toward graduate courses as an undergraduate student, a minimum of twelve undergraduate credit hours must be taken per semester. Students should consult with their academic advisor and Student Financial Services to evaluate the best pathway for taking graduate courses.
