A Conversation about Anthropology and Christian Faith
Dr. Timothy Larsen & Dr. Christa Tooley
Wheaton College
Held Thursday, March 5, 2015
Dr. Larsen's new book, The Slain God: Anthropologists and Christian Faith, examines the conflicting impulses of major anthropologists regarding the Christian faith. For some key figures, anthropological research undermined religious conviction. Yet a surprising number of the most eminent anthropologists not only kept the faith but provided robust articulations of how their studies harmonized with their beliefs.
The conversation about these issues featured Dr. Larsen, our McManis Professor of Christian Thought, and Dr. Tooley, Assistant Professor of Urban Studies and Anthropology.
