Brass Day provides an opportunity to learn from and rehearse with professional brass players.
The Conservatory of Music at Wheaton College and Professor Christopher Davis present the 2nd Annual Brass Day on Saturday, November 5, 2016. Brass Day is open to all high school brass musicians, and Conservatory of Music prospects.
Activities
Brass Day starts with a devotional followed by a concert featuring our brass faculty of Melanie Cottle (Horn), Mark Ridenour (Trumpet), Kevin Harrison (Tuba), and Christopher Davis (Trombone).
Individual master classes for horn, trumpet, trombone, and tuba/euphonium will follow the faculty recital. Our faculty will work with participants on breathing, buzzing, sound production, articulation, and solo repertoire.
To complete the Brass Day experience, Dr. Timothy Yontz will lead a joint side-by-side Brass Ensemble rehearsal for participants and current students. Brass Day concludes with a campus tour and information session for participants.
To promote Brass Day at your school, organization, or church, please download a PDF of our 8.5 x 11? flyer or 11 x 17? poster.
