Composition Area

General content

The compositions area of the Conservatory of Music is comprised of expert faculty composers who actively compose new works. In addition to the Composition coursework, students participate in an annual composition competition hosted by the Conservatory and juried by a combination of outside music experts and Conservatory faculty.

The Conservatory of Music provides comprehensive, personal instruction leading to degrees in performance, pedagogy, music with elective studies emphases, music education, music composition, composition, and the liberal arts.  Our highly credentialed faculty are outstanding performers committed to teaching and mentorship each contributing to Wheaton’s distinctively Christian community of scholarship.  Our goal is to nurture young musicians with a broad understanding of their art who in turn, can use their gifts creatively and effectively in tomorrow’s world.
