1. What was your favorite class in college? Why?

Intercultural relations was my favorite class which highlighted that cultures differ in values, language, food, dress, social behavior, and conflict resolution. It drew my attention to the beauty found in diversity, and the blessings of interactions with people whose cultures were different from mine. More importantly, the class focused on the significance of seeking ways to reach all cultures and people in order to share with them the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2. Before Wheaton, what were you doing?

Before coming to Wheaton, I was completing a Ph.D. at the London School of Theology, UK.

3. What big question are you trying to answer through your work?

How I as a Christian can effectively connect with my Muslim neighbor, and how the Biblical Psalms in a culturally appropriate style can be instrumental in this regard?

4. What has kept you busy during the pandemic?

Spending time with children at home, preparing the final manuscript on the Contextualized Psalms, and learning to read the Gurmukhi script.

Sometimes I do, but I am very excited about the semester ahead.

6. What would you have liked to tell the freshman version of yourself about going to college?

Millions of people around the world are deprived of education due to social and economic factors. Be grateful to the Lord for having the opportunity to study, and make the best use of your time and resources.

7. When you’re not teaching or researching, what do you like to do?

I like to watch history documentaries, read analysis on South-Asian politics, explore the world google map, and follow Cricket—the game not the insect.
