William Osborne Society
The William Osborne Society exists to foster community among the Black students on campus as well as create opportunities for the Wheaton campus as a whole to learn about and experience Black Culture.
Please consider attending our campus announced events!
Mission
We aim to serve God through our organization, by encouraging Black students to grow in Christ while celebrating their ethnic identities, promoting an inclusive environment, advocating for the well-being of Black students and building bridges to unify the campus body.
Vision
The William Osborne Society was established in 1987, and to achieve our mission, we have developed a fourfold vision for the William Osborne Society. Our first aim is to promote fellowship and leadership development. Our second aim is to provide opportunities for community outreach and service. Our third aim is to invite all Wheaton students to learn about Black culture. And our fourth, and final, aim is to worship together.
Who Can Join
William Osborne Society exists primarily as a support to Black students at Wheaton. We invite the campus to engage, learn about, and celebrate Black cultures. Our primary desire is to see God glorified and honored by our lives, and through William Osborne Society, our goal is that through fellowship within the Wheaton College Community we can encourage both Black and other culturally diverse students and also promote awareness of the diversity within Black cultures.
A Student's Insight
One of the highlights of the year has been the Rhythm and Praise Chapel service that Willie-O organized. They shared their experiences and culture with the rest of campus in an offer of worship to God.
