David ChoDr. David Cho

David Cho was born and raised in Chicago, later moving to the western suburbs, the proud child of Korean immigrants in the early 1970s. David came to Wheaton via Hope College (Holland, MI), where he was formerly an Associate Prof. of English and Director of the American Ethnic Studies program. David holds multiple degrees, B.A. from University of Illinois (Pre-Med, Rhetoric), M.F.A. (Creative Writing, Poetry) and M.A. (Postcolonial Studies and Literature) from Purdue University, M.A.T. (Composition, Rhetoric, and Pedagogy) and Ph.D. (19th to 20th Cent. Am Lit, Critical Theory, American Ethnic Studies, conc. in Asian Pacific American Lit) from the University of Washington-Seattle, and an M.A.B.S. from Wheaton College. He is the author of the chapbook, Song of Our Songs; book of poems, Night Sessions; and Lost in Transnation, a scholarly manuscript on twentieth-century Korean American novels. Also, a new book of poems was published summer (2020) by Wayne State University Press, entitled A Half-Life. David loves to travel, play sports, and hang out with his family of five: Sandy (wife), Jonathan, Sarah, and Joanna.

 

 

Billye KeeBillye Kee

Billye is a “developer” who finds joy in watching others reach their potential. During her 13 years at Wheaton, she previously worked as Telephone Services Manager, Career Coach and now serves in the Office of Multicultural Development. Although she spent two decades in corporate telecommunications, she defines her vocational calling as encouraging and supporting the development of others. She is married to Chip Kee and they have one daughter, Krista.

 

 

Tanya EglerTanya Egler

Gospel Choir Director/Program Assistant

Tanya Egler has enjoyed the opportunity to serve as the Director of the Wheaton College Gospel Choir for 28 years. She is a native of Cleveland, Ohio where she grew up in a singing family that fostered her love for God and music.

Tanya earned a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Kent State University. She and her husband Calvin '95 are co-founders of Passion Ministries. They are blessed to have three young adult children who love and serve God.

Hee-Jung joined the Office of Multicultural Development in December 2013 as Office Coordinator. She has enjoyed not only connecting with students and staff members, but also helping them to reach their visions and goals. In her free time, she loves nature walking, gardening, doing DIY projects, traveling with her family, and cooking Korean foods.

Brianna Corpuz (or Bri), is a first year graduate student pursuing her master's degree in Higher Education and Student Development here at Wheaton. She is also the Graduate Resident Advisor in the Office of Multicultural Development advising the Shalom community and Nexus. Bri graduated from her undergrad from Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington, but is originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, and will forever call Hawaii home. In her free time, she loves game nights, watching movies, playing sports, or just spending time with friends and family. She is excited to get to know the students more this year and provide a safe space for them! 

 

 

Audrey Kim

Audrey Kim is a first year graduate student within the Higher Education and Student Development program. Her goal as a new graduate assistant is to support Unidad Cristiana as well as creating new programming to promote unity and community within the Office of Multicultural Development. In her free time Audrey enjoys creating new recipes, reading mystery stories, and relaxing with her dog.

 

 

Daniel Garza

Daniel Garza is one of our new Graduate Assistants who is overseeing the 1-2-1 program as well as Summit Scholars. He is continuing his education at Wheaton in the Master’s of Leadership program here at our graduate school. Outside of the office, Daniel is a current member of the Men’s Basketball team and is looking forward to building a deeper relationship between the OMD and the Athletic program. In his free time, Daniel enjoys the outdoors by either playing golf with colleagues or going for a bike ride. He is looking forward to creating deeper connections as well as cultivating the beautiful cultures across campus in Kingdom diversity.
