Early Childhood Summer Discoveries
Discover music with your child! Research shows that studying music as a young child builds a solid foundation for school readiness and academic success. CSA's Summer Music program is designed to build expressive and attentive skills through singing, focused listening, patterning and instrument play. Note: Parent/caregiver attends class with child, except for the Pre-K classes, where parent/caregiver attends the last 15 minutes of each class.
Enjoy bonding with your baby as you learn new songs, movement activities, fingerplays, dances, and listening activities in an enriching and joyful virtual environment. Music stimulates auditory and brain development in infants. Parent/caregiver attends class with child.

Each day we will discover a love of music through playing, singing, and listening! Let's look and listen together, starting close to home and moving into “nearby nature” to find hidden places, a stream, an old tree, maybe even an accidental wild spot on the fringe of the city. We will explore the sights and sounds of the area where we live. What will we find?

Summer Keyboard Club
- Ages 5.5–9 years
- Intro to Keyboard for beginners, Keep it Up Keyboard for Keyboard 1 and Keyboard 2 grads
- A home piano or keyboard is very helpful to support class, but not required.
Join us for an exciting musical adventure. Get ready to play games, move, sing, drum and play songs on the keyboard in a group setting. Continue the musical fun this fall in our Music Makers at the Keyboard class. Parents are invited to experience the entire class with their child, but are asked to attend last 15 minutes.
Home piano or keyboard is helpful to support the class, but not required.

Recent Keyboard 1 and Keyboard 2 graduates will enjoy refreshing their skills and staying motivated to play over the summer! Sign up for all three classes or choose just one or two that work best in your schedule. Suzuki Samplers
In these beginning small-group instrument classes, students and parents explore the Suzuki method. Class instruments are provided. Parent attends class with child.

We are expanding our offerings for 3rd-12th graders this summer!
Sign up for Handbells and/or Middle School Summer String Orchestra to keep the music going this summer!
Handbells are a great way to have fun with friends while making beautiful music. No previous bell-ringing experience is required. Join us for a fun week together!
For rising 3rd-12th graders. If demand is high, an additional class may be added and groups split by age.

Introducing Arco Vivo beginning Fall 2026!
Arco Vivo is an advanced chamber ensemble for highly motivated violin, viola, cello, and piano students featuring:
- A high-level chamber orchestra experience
- Engaging, energetic, and rewarding repertoire
- Performance opportunities throughout the school year
- Potential travel and retreat or international tour depending on student interest each year, to be determined by members in the fall.
Co-Directed by Deborah Klemme and Lilian Chou, weekly rehearsals will be held on Saturday mornings beginning Fall 2026.
Live auditions will be held in May through August 2026 (multiple dates available).

Summer Private Lessons
Enjoy the many benefits of starting music lessons in summer! Summer’s flexible schedule allows your child to try something new. Music practice will keep their mind active and lessons help organize your week.
- Suzuki and Prep/Traditional lessons are offered
- Group classes do not meet in Summer
- Students who enroll in Summer are expected to continue instrument study in fall with the same teacher
- Summer semester only: students may select the number of lessons
The Suzuki method is based on the philosophy that every child has the potential to reach a high level of musicianship, and the learning process corresponds to the way a child assimilates language—through listening, imitation, and practice. CSA’s comprehensive Suzuki program is nationally recognized.
- Instruments offered: piano, violin, viola, cello, guitar
- Initial emphasis is on rote learning, position, technique, and tone, prior to introducing note-reading
- Parent attends all lessons with the student and supervises home practice
- Summer semester only: students may select the number of lessons

Our faculty members hold advanced degrees, have extensive experience working with students of all levels and employ a variety of methods to meet individual needs and goals. CSA’s nurturing and creative environment builds character and equips students to become excellent artists.

- Early emphasis is on note-reading, excellent technique, and self-expression
- Parent involvement is encouraged for young students, but not required
