Social Sciences at Wheaton College

City Street with Crowds

Wheaton is a Christian liberal arts college that aims to “educate the whole person to build the church and benefit society worldwide.” How can we work to benefit society worldwide if we don’t understand how societies work and what it means to actually benefit them? That is what the social sciences do here at Wheaton, discovering and illuminating how societies—in all their economic, social, political, and cultural dimensions—function and how we, as neighbors, citizens, and above all as Christians might contribute to their flourishing.

Six Undergrad Programs. Four Certificates. Three Graduate Degrees.

Grapple with Issues That Matter

Our outstanding faculty will challenge you to engage with issues of justice and injustice, power and weakness, wealth and poverty, and much else, all in the light of what it means to love our neighbors—whether near or far—as ourselves and bring our witness to Christ to bear in all the places of the world. We invite you to join us.
