Biography
Note: Dr. Daniel Treier sadly passed away on December 22, 2025. As a memorial to him, and in acknowledgement of his tremendous service to the College, we will maintain his faculty profile page for an indefinite period of time.
Dr. Treier served with distinction as the Gunther H. Knoedler Professor of Theology and as the Director of Wheaton’s Ph.D. Program in Theology.
"While we rejoice in our brother’s victory over death through his Lord Jesus Christ, we are grieved by everything this loss means for our campus community. Please pray for Dr. Treier’s colleagues in the Litfin Divinity School, his doctoral students, his many friends in the Department of Biblical and Theological Studies and across campus, and especially his wife Dr. Amy Black—equally beloved as Professor of Political Science—and for their daughter."
