Armerding Center for Music and the Arts Quad View

Located at the heart of Wheaton’s campus, the Armerding Center for Music and the Arts invites musical participation and artistic engagement of all students, staff, and faculty. Named in honor of Hudson T. Armerding ’41, Wheaton College's fifth president and former Men's Glee Club member, the Armerding Center has a variety of state-of-the-art features that make it a world-class facility to learn and create music.

The Armerding Center features:

  • 108-seat recital hall designed specifically for music performance
  • 650-seat acoustically-engineered concert hall
  • bespoke 3-manual, 38-stop pipe organ, built by Taylor & Boody Organbuilders
  • sound-canceling, acoustically calibrated practice rooms and classrooms
  • recording and faculty studios
  • choral rehearsal room
  • the grand lobby

Wheaton's Largest Music Venue Edman Memorial Chapel

Built in 1960, Edman Memorial Chapel is the site of campus chapels, concerts, commencements, and various community-related events such as the Wheaton College Artist Series and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at Wheaton. 

Edman Chapel features:

  • seating for 2,400
  • four-manual, 50-stop, 70-rank Casavant Tracker Pipe Organ
  • large rehearsal hall for the band and orchestra
  • instructional space for harp, percussion, and string bass

Pierce Memorial Chapel

Once the College's principal chapel, Pierce Memorial Chapel today provides classrooms, offices, and rehearsal facilities for the Conservatory of Music and for hundreds of young musicians involved in Wheaton's Preparatory and Suzuki music programs in the Community School of the ArtsPierce Chapel's auditorium is used for class chapels, lectures, concerts, and recitals.

Pierce Memorial Chapel features:

  • 900-seat auditorium
  • Hendrickson Organ (2-manual tracker)

Barrows Auditorium

Barrows Auditorium Wheaton College IL

This 500-seat auditorium is located on the east side of Billy Graham Hall and serves as a popular venue for conferences, recitals, lectures and other events.
