Joyce Anne enjoys teaching all levels of Young Musicians at the Keyboard, 3-5 year-olds in Musikgarten classes, pre-schoolers in the CODA program, and flute students in her home studio. She is certified in all levels of Musikgarten curriculum.
Joyce Anne was a flutist in the Wichita Symphony Orchestra for thirty years. She was also a flute instructor at Southwestern College for twenty-eight years and has been teaching flute since high school. She was principal flutist in both the Wichita Metropolitan Ballet Orchestra and the Wichita Grand Opera Orchestra until moving to Chicago in 2008. She currently performs with the Camerata Chicago. She is also a music curriculum writer for the Rafiki Foundation in Africa.
Joyce Anne and her husband, Michael (Dean of Arts and Communication at Wheaton College) have eleven children and enjoy performing chamber music with some of them. Joyce Anne loves sharing her love of music with young children.
Joyce Anne cherishes teaching at CSA because “I get to know such wonderful families and to have the privilege of being part of their lives! It is a joy to watch these precious children learn and make progress and to know that the music we share will enrich their hearts and minds for their entire lives."
