Wheaton College seeks applicants who evidence a lively and vital faith, high academic ability, social concern, as well as moral character and personal integrity.

We seek to enroll well-rounded freshman and transfer students, with each class composed of 600 individuals with a wide variety of interests, accomplishments, backgrounds, and attributes who also share a commitment to Christ and to a liberal arts education. Our holistic application process includes evaluating the following:

  • Quality of course selection
  • Performance in high school/college
  • Rank in class
  • ACT and/or SAT
  • Essays
  • Recommendations
  • Extracurricular activities
  • Christian commitment (necessary for admission)

Important Dates

  • Early action deadline: November 1, with notification by December 31
  • Presidential Leadership Award and Multicultural Scholarship applications due: Early action November 1, Regular Action: February 1, Transfers February 1
  • Regular Action deadline: January 10, with notification by April 1
  • Conservatory deadline: January 10, with notification by April 1
  • Fall Transfer deadline: March 1
  • Spring Transfer deadline: October 1

  • 600 enrolled, including 12 National Merit Finalists
  • Average high school GPA 3.7 (unweighted scale)
  • 45% graduated in top 10% of their high school class; 73% graduated in top 25% of their high school class (among those submitting a class rank)
  • 80% are expected to graduate in four years
  • 130 are children of alumni
  • 77% are from out of state (excluding international students)
  • 94% are expected to return their sophomore year
  • Middle 50% scored between 1250 and 1400 on the EBRW (Evidence-Based Reading and Writing) and Math portions of the SAT, and between 27 and 32 on the ACT
